We Help Local Business Market Online
Before the internet there were a lot of products and services produced by
local businesses that were only available to the local community. There
really hasn’t been anyone that helps local business market online. Sure the
large corporations have had global markets to sell to. The investment in
marketing on a national and international level is mind boggling.
There used to be a distinct separation between the large corporations and
the local businesses in their marketing practices. The large corporations
had an endless supply of marketing resources at their disposal. And the
local businesses had the Yellow Pages, newspapers, television, radio, the
door to door salesman, and direct mail.
All of the resources the local businesses had were costly but effective. Then
came along the internet and the costly barriers of advertising for local
businesses were wiped out. A local business selling hand-made boots in
Modesto CA can now easily get found by a potential customer in Lubbock TX.
As technology has progressed it is now possible to take advantage of the
power of internet advertising right here at home. Maybe you have a local
business, for example a restaurant that caters to people right here at home
and a global presence really won’t serve your advertising needs as much as
exposure to people within a 20 mile radius.
Well hang onto your hat for the next few days we are going to explore the local
business advertising realm from a customer’s point of view. I believe you will
be pleasantly surprised.

List Building – More on List Building
More on List Building
You have an AWeber account. You have decided to build a list of people interested in your product niche. You have developed evergreen weekly email responses and have made sure these emails are building trust with the readers. You are only pushing a product once a month. Because you know that if you push a product every week without building trust, people will unsubscribe.
All this is good but how do you get them to subscribe in the first place?
Why subscribe to my list?
This is one of the most important questions you need to answer before you active your newsletter. Remember the reader is on you blog. He/she is interested in what you have to say. But they need an additional reason to give you their name and email address.
Readers hate spam. Do you have a privacy policy that states you will not sell or give away their private information?
Can the reader find this policy easily?
You need to explain to the reader “what’s in it for them (the reader)” to sign up for your list?
Are you offering an appropriate gift that is valuable to the reader. At least valuable enough for them to give you their private information?
You must find something that is valuable enough to your readers to make them want to give you their name and email address. And you must make it easy for them to sign up.
Sign up form
Now place your sign up form on a sales page or in a widget (which ever will work the best) and test it. If it works make it active.
Now you must market your list so people can find it and sign up.
You list can be a source of sales now and in the future. So it is worth the extra effort to get it right.
Take action and Get Found Online.
Until the next time,
Craig Childs
